The course will be a combination of text-based lectures and discussions of the current literature emphasizing the development of critical reading techniques. This course is meant for advanced undergraduate and graduate students. Background material will be from Molecular Biology of the Gene, 5th ed, Watson et al, Pearson/Benj Cummings, More recent material will be from current literature.
