The internship provides several weeks of practical application of knowledge of Hispanic culture and language. A consideration of the literature of Spain beginning with the Generation of 1898 and ending with writers of the 1980s and 1990s. Examples from all genres (short story, novel, essay, drama, poetry, film) are studied for their literary value as well as for the insight they offer into contemporary Spanish culture.
