Emphasis is placed on the functional use of technology by persons with disabilities and the integration of assistive technology into the home, community, school, and workplace. Topics include the transdisciplinary approach to service delivery, toy adaptation, switch construction and use, environmental control, alternate computer access, curricular adaptations, and augmentative communication. Students will examine how theories of human learning and principles of universal design provide a foundation for designing instructional programs that meet the unique needs of all students.
