Each offering of the course is devoted to advanced study of a particular topic in classical literature not covered in other CLA courses, or to a topic in the history of European and North American Latin-language literature, or the classical literary tradition. Examples of such topics are Greek and Latin historiography, classical rhetoric, Latin satire, classical philosophical prose, classical literature and the modern cinema, Latin literature of the Middle Ages and Renaissance.
