Students will utilize the sport science knowledge they have obtained in the Coaching Minor curriculum to help coach a local athletic team. EXER 495: Internship in Fitness & Performance Setting

Students will complete a practical, observational, and/or research-based learning experience in their choice of a fitness, performance, or sport setting. This will allow students to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained from their coursework to a real world experience in a professional setting that supports their career goals. Internship placements must be approved by an academic advisor. The Exercise Science Department will schedule students into their internship only when all required paperwork is completed. At least 3 credits are required for the major; additional credits may count towards major elective or free elective credits. Requires 2.0 or greater QPA and completion of all Exercise Science core and Human Performance Fitness Courses with a C or better. Exercise Science elective or free elective courses maybe taken concurrently with the internship. This class is not available for graduate credit.
