Topics covered will include federal, state and community mandates, independent-living concepts, and the basic principles of rehabilitation. A comprehensive review will occur of the variety of rehabilitation programs. Ethical decision-making will be integrated into the course and students will learn to practice with cultural sensitivity. Site visits to rehabilitation agencies and applied experiences will be provided.
