In this course, students will gain the knowledge and skills needed to install, configure, secure, and maintain a network for a small business. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be prepared to take TestOut's Network Pro certification exam and CompTIA's Network+ certification exam.

This course provides basic background and hands-on experience installing, building, upgrading, repairing, configuring, troubleshooting, optimizing, diagnosing, and performing preventive maintenance of basic personal computer hardware and operating systems. This course is the first in a series of two that prepare students for CompTIA's A+ and TestOut's PC Pro certifications.
Prerequisite:
Take IFT-100; Minimum grade D. (Required, Previous). | Take IFT-110; Minimum grade D. (Required, Previous or concurrent).

This course will provide the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform Windows server pre- and post- installation, along with the skills necessary to perform day-to-day maintenance on a Windows server. At the completion of the course, the student should be able to create and administer user and group accounts, troubleshoot login problems, setup and administer permissions for files and folders, set up and administer printers and administer the Windows server and workstation OS in real world situations. This course prepares students for MicroSoft's Windows Server and TestOut's ServerPto certification exams.

This course teaches the knowledge and skills required to successfully install, operate, and troubleshoot a small branch office network. Topics covered include: connecting to a WAN; basic security and wireless concepts; routing and switching fundamentals; the TCP/IP and OSI models; IP addressing; WAN technologies; operating and configuring IOS devices; configuring RIPv2, static and default routing; implementing NAT and DHCP; and configuring simple networks.
Prerequisite:
Take NET-100; Minimum grade D. (Required, Previous). | Take NET-206; Minimum grade D. (Required, Previous).

This course introduces the architecture, structure, functions, components, and models of the Internet and other computer networks. The principles and structure of IP Addressing and the fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, media, and operations are introduced to provide a foundation for the curriculum. By the end of the course, students will be able to build simple LAN's, perform basic configurations for routers and switches, and implement IP addressing schemes.
Prerequisite:
Take NET-206; Minimum grade D. (Required, Previous).

This course focuses on switching technologies and router operations that support small-to-medium business networks, including wireless local area networks (WLAN) and security concepts. Students will perform basic network configuration and troubleshooting, identify and mitigate LAN security threats, and configure and secure a basic WLAN.
Prerequisite:
Take NET-162; Minimum grade D. (Required, Previous).

This course provides a comprehensive view of the various types of attacks that are launched against networks and computer systems. It examines network and computer security defense mechanisms, and teaches techniques for preventing and countering attacks. After completion of the course, the student will be prepared to sit for TestOut's Security Pro and CompTIA's Security+ certification exams.

This course presents the architecture, components, operations, and security for large, complex networks, including wide area network (WAN) technologies. The course emphasizes network security concepts and introduces network virtualization and automation. Students learn how to configure, troubleshoot, and secure enterprise network devices and understand how application programming interfaces (API) and configuration management tools enable network automation.
Prerequisite:
Take NET-172; Minimum grade D. (Required, Previous).

This course will cover theory and principles regarding direct current (DC), alternating current (AC), digital and electronic circuits.Topics include ifferent types of DC/AC sources, waveforms, basic circuit elements, series and parallel circuits, applicable theorems and laws, digital logic circuits and number systems, logic gates, Boolean algebra,Karnaugh mapping, and solid state electronics.Thiscourse is designed for students majoring in the Nanoscience Technology Program.
