    Portable Ropes Challenge, K-12 Course Description: This workshop will enable the participants to build and implement a portable ropes challenge course in any educational setting. Directions will be given on how to build different elements and how to use these elements to develop leadership and teamwork skills for participants. Participants will be able to take learned skills from the workshop and apply them to small groups in a variety of different settings. Recommended for educators grades K-12 who want to become familiar with the construction and implementation of activities to develop teamwork and leadership skills in a classroom setting.

Participants will be involved in a variety of self-awareness and role-play activities. Strategies will be explored for assisting elementary and secondary students with enhancing their self-esteem and assertiveness skills, which can be utilized in a variety of health behaviors and health risk situations. Recommended for educators at all grade levels, coaches, and school counselors.

    This workshop for teachers K-12 will utilize computers for the development of electronic presentations, transparencies, and supplemental classroom materials. The primary software will be PowerPoint by Microsoft; it will be supported by Print Artist, Task Force Commander, and other software to enhance PowerPoints effectiveness. The workshop will provide participants with theoretical aspects of leadership development with direct hands-on experience participating in team building activities on the Millersville University ropes course. Workshop participants will be able to take learned skills from the workshop and apply them to small groups in a variety of settings. Recommended for educators grades 5-12 who want to become familiar with the implementation of a ropes program to develop teamwork and leadership skills in a classroom setting.

    This workshop is designed to allow teachers (K-12) to develop the skills and creativity necessary to be successful in the application of digital image capture, manipulation, storage, transmission and reproduction. Basic principles will be demonstrated by the instructor and applied by the workshop participants in practical picture taking, downloading, editing, storing and print making assignments that can be used in their classroom environment. Aesthetic and technical aspects of digital photography will be included in units of work including camera handling, motion and depth-of-field control, enlarging/cropping, lighting, printing, and display mounting. Recommended for K-12 educators. (18 times)
