It places students in situations where they are required to use the target language exclusively. Mastery of all four language skills, listening speaking, reading and writing is emphasized and accomplished through a variety of instructional methods and media. Students at this level will be able to communicate with a native speaker with ease. They are also introduced to the study of literature through the reading of stories and poems, as well as excerpts of novels and plays of well known French and francophone writers. Students will engage in more advanced readings and research on the cultures and societies of the countries in which the language is spoken using both print and electronic media. Pre-Requisite: HLF201 or permission of instructor.
