Regardless of form, the STP must add to the learning the student has accomplished in other phases of his/her program? the STP gives the student the opportunity to exercise originality and creativity. The STP also addresses the appropriate intellectual, cultural, and/or artistic traditions of the relevant fields of study and demonstrates a student's grounding in theoretical and critical scholarship in these fields.
