hour. An introduction to the ISU flight training program. Students must enroll in this course while pursuing the Private Pilot Certificate. Course completion requirements: minimum of 20 total flight hours and a solo endorsement.

hours. Development of air transportation facilities; state and federal regulations; DOT, FAA, and NTSB organizations; organization of commercial air transportation to include air carrier management, marketing, and pricing procedures.

hours. The planning, development, and operation of a modern airport including airport systems, facility planning, federal and state regulations, environmental policy, operational safety, maintenance, and public relations. Prerequisite: 205 or consent of instructor.

hours. Introduction to basic aircraft systems found on high performance turboprop and turbojet aircraft. Course includes turbine engines, electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electronic flight systems and instruments, maintenance requirements and documentation, and trouble shooting from the cockpit. Prerequisites: 211 or consent of the instructor.

hours. This course introduces students to the Beechcraft King Air 200/B200 and its systems. All aircraft systems will be covered, including: electrical power systems, fuel systems, warning systems, power-plant, fire protection, pneumatics, ice and rain protection, pressurization, weight and balance, performance, operating limitations, checklist and SOPs, and more. Prerequisite: junior standing and consent of instructor.

hours. An introduction to the department’s Beechcraft King Air B200 Flight Training Device, in this class, students will apply what they learned in 313 to professionally operate and fly the department’s King Air FTD. Along with regular class room instruction, students must meet once per week for four hours, to fly the King Air FTD. Prerequisite: successful completion of 313 and instructor consent. Students must pay an additional laboratory fee for this class.

hours. Includes basic traffic control procedures and phraseology. Areas include a description of the National Airway System to include centers, approach control, towers, and flight service stations. Also included will be controller responsibilities and techniques, current equipment familiarization, and aircraft control adjustments. Prerequisites: 141 and 143; or consent of instructor.

hours. Introduction to high performance, multi-engine, aerobatic and tailwheel aircraft; their systems, performance, weight and balance computations, flight procedures, and characteristics and emergencies. Prerequisites: Private Pilot Certificate and 211; or consent of instructor.

hour. Students must enroll in this course while pursuing the Instrument/Commercial Certificate. Course completion requirements: 185 total flight hours.
