Supervised field experience in a variety of institutional settings. Research paper under faculty supervision. Prerequisite: Application to division chair will require junior or senior standing, overall GPA of 2.50 or better, Criminal Justice GPA of 2.50 or better, completion of CJ 405 (may be taken simultaneously with permission), and a recommendation from a full-time criminal justice faculty member. May not be offered during summer sessions.

This course is an introduction to the basic techniques in digital image processing and visualization. Specific image processing topics include image acquisition, image enhancement, color representations, linear image filtering and correlation, image compression and image analysis. Topics in visualization include perception, scalar, volume and flow visualization. Advanced display techniques such as virtual reality, haptics, sonifciation and Content-Based Image Retrieval(CBIR) will be presented.
