This courses covers a progression of computer techniques and applications that encompass the design and layout aspects of print communications products such as newsletters, newspapers, six-panel brochures, and photo essays. Strategies for effective story design and presentation of written material are coupled with mastery of electronic layout, text management, and manipulation of digital photographs and other graphic images. Group and individual projects are required. Team taught. Adobe PageMaker is the primary software used in the course. Prerequisite: An introductory course in computer science.
