This course presents compensation as a process critical to the achievement of an organization's strategic objectives. Students learn how to apply compensation tools and techniques in a way that integrates compensation into the overall organizationalstrategy. Topics include labor economics, compensation strategies, job analysis and evaluation, performance appraisal as it relates to pay for performance, market analysis, the creation and implementation of pay structures, individual and group incentive pay systems, tax issues, compliance with federal regulations, pay discrimination, benefits administration, budgeting, and compensation of special groups (including unions and executives).
