Special emphasis will be placed on issues and debates that have dominated the field and continue to be a source of controversy and impetus for research. Using an interdisciplinary approach, we will explore social, physical, and biological factors that can shape the course of human development. Attention will also be paid to how cultural context shapes and gives meaning to development.
