This internship will be offered to Administrative Medical Office Assistant students and will consist of a total of 120 hours of work on the patient floors of St. Lukes Medical Center in Newburgh. Interns will be mentored by St. Lukes employees and will need to be well versed in Medical Terminology to qualify. Two students will be recruited from the Middletown Medical Office classes and two from Newburgh beginning in January of 2009. The establishment of the internships will hopefully result in jobs for those participating in them. Instructors are limited to choosing two students who best perform in their classes and the criteria for selection is attendance, attitude, industriousness and evaluation of class work and test results.
