Students will learn processes and instruments for measuring cognitive functions, including aptitude and achievement. Both quantitative and qualitative measurement will be discussed as will using outcomes to guide the creation of psychologically sound learning environments. Students will learn to develop their own measurement devices and to use descriptive statistics to summarize and analyze the results. Students will also learn to interpret statistics from normand criterion-referenced tests and to analyze statistics reported within technical manuals of commercial tests. Prerequisites: Grade of C+ or better in PSY 3401 and ED 2501 or ED 3331.
