Asset Based Community Development focuses on aspects of how to organize people in communities including effective use of existing community assets in neighborhoods. Through a series of exercises that build community, participants learn how to reach out to neighbors, bring them together to address problems, work toward shared goals, and build strong and organized communities.

The ACT or American College testing Assessment Test is a college admissions exam given six times a year. There are four sections: English, math, reading, and science, and an optional essay. Most students take the ACT during the winter and spring of their junior year. Students who take the college admissions test ¿cold¿ are increasingly at a disadvantage. Experience with the ACT can improve test scores, depending on the amount of effort put into preparation.

Individuals with disabilities have both rights and responsibilities under the law. In this session you will learn what rights they have in communication and reasonable accommodations in the classroom, workplace, marketplace and community where they live. What are the courts saying? What resources or organizations are available to assist if the rights of individuals with disabilities have been violated? What can these individuals do to better educate the businesses that they frequent?
