This training and certification course is designed to teach a systematic approach to performing advanced life support skills. The advanced skills on a patient involve invasive and non-invasive procedures. Procedures include: cardiac monitoring, cardiac defibrillation, transcutaneous pacing, intravenous cannulation, iinterosseous access and intraosseous infusion, surgical and needle crixothyrotomy, needle decompression, advanced medication administration through parental and enteral routes. This class will prepare a student as a beginning level nurse aide with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential for providing basic nursing care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
