2 cl hrs, 160 field hrs/semester, 4 cr Provides the qualified student with an opportunity to observe and gain practical experience in a legal setting under the supervision of an attorney. Students are placed in various law-related job sites such as law offices, corporations, judicial and administrative agencies. Students enrolled in LAW 2409/LS 409 must complete 160 hours of work experience. Additionally, students must attend and participate in weekly seminars to discuss progress in the field, workrelated problems and the integration of classroom instruction with practical application. Ethics and the role of the paralegal in the delivery of legal services will also be discussed. Students are instructed and assisted in the preparation of job applications, cover letters, résumés and the development ofinterviewing skills. Prerequisite: Must be in final semester of study for AAS degree or have completed 24 credits of legal specialty courses or department approval required
