1 semester Hour This course is available only to a select number of full-time freshman and sophomore students with grade point averages (GPA) of 2.5 or above and ACT scores of 18 and above. The Dean of General College or the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs must approve all students enrolled in this course. This course is offered fall and spring semesters. Students are taught "life skills" courses such as effective studyhabits; time-management; written and oral communications; citizenship planning and organization; problem analysis; ethics; budgeting; and physical health, all of which are paramount to be a successful college student and leader. The objectives of this course are: 1) to develop leadership potential of students that will facilitate their future performance as students at Alcorn State University; 2) to develop students' abilities to speak and write effectively.
