This course discusses the importance of routing and switching in the networking field. Students will configure routers and switches for small to medium sized networks. Routed protocols such as TCP/IP and IPX/SPX are also discussed. Routing Protocols such as RIP and IGRP; Switching concepts such as STP, VLAN, VTP are also covered. Finally, students will learn to configure firewalls on the routers through ACL's. Prerequisite: IT 162.
