CRI 207: Criminal Investigation

Prerequisite: CRI 101. This course is designed to provide the student with a working knowledge of the academic, theoretical and practical application of criminal investigative techniques related to the lawful acquisition and development of evidence, prior to the introduction of advanced or specialized criminalistics and forensic sciences. The course has been upgraded to include basic instruction in conducting preliminary investigations and the collection and reporting of intelligence related to terrorist organizations. The course will also focus on the employment of applicable federal statutes in conjunction with covert and overt investigative techniques.
