Designed to provide in-depth coverage and application of therapeutic procedures to achieve adequate, spontaneous, and artificial ventilation with emphasis on ventilator classification, methods, principles, and operational characteristics. Include indications, complications, and physiologic effects/principles of mechanical ventilation. This course also emphasizes initiation, management, and weaning of ventilatory support. (2 Lec., 3 Lab.)

A study of pharmacological principals/practices of drugs which affect the cardiopulmonary systems. Emphasis on classification, route of administration, dosages/calculations, and physiological interactions. (3 Lec.)

A study of physical, radiological, hemodynamic, laboratory, nutritional, and cardiopulmonary diagnostic assessment of the pulmonary patient. (3 Lec.)
