Identification of exposures and vulnerabilities and appropriate countermeasures are addressed. The importance of appropriate planning, policies, and controls is also discussed. Skill development in planning, designing, implementing, operating, and troubleshooting for wireless and cellular telephony systems. Includes call processing, hand-off, site analyses, overview of RF antenna, testing, maintenance, access protocols, security, and vendor interoperability. (3 Lec., 2 Lab.)

Fundamentals of telecommunications media. Emphasizes installation, testing, certifying, maintenance, documentation, and troubleshooting. Also includes connectorization of Unshielded Twisted pair and Fiber Optic cables, TIA 568A & TIA 569 compliance, media characteristics, and appropriate installation procedures. (3 Lec., 2 Lab.)

Safeguard computer operating systems by demonstrating server support skills and designing and implementing a security system. Identify security threats and monitor network security implementations. Use best practices to configure operating systems to industry security standards. This course is cross-listed as ITSY 2400. Identify elements of firewall design, types of security threats and responses to security attacks. Use Best Practices to design, implement, and monitor a network security plan.
