Soil compositions, physical and chemical properties, and classifications; water movement and seepage problems; consolidation and shear strength; applications to earth structures, retaining walls, slope stability, bearing capacity, and settlement. May be taken as 570 for grad credit except by civil engineers. 4 lec. May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.

Techniques and applications of all aspects of the constuction scheduling process, inlcuding background on scheduling construction projects, development of work breakdown structures, and transition to element of the construction project schedule, linear scheduling methods for heavy construction, use of real-world examples in civil engineering and applications using Primavera Project Planner. 3 lec.
