The student will be exposed to the areas of Strategic Planning; Environmental, Legal, Economic, Social, and Technological factors; Competition; Consumers and Their Lifestyles; Resource Management; Positioning; Evaluation of Competition; and Retailing Issues and Outlook. Examination of applicable theory and research findings and concepts provided by psychology, sociology, anthropology, and marketing. Stress on conceptual models of buyer behavior based on sources of influence.

The case study approach is employed to develop skill in complex and difficult decision making. Applications in management science to assist in the decision process are covered.
