This course is designed to establish an advanced level of proficiency in the diagnosis and repair of engine performance and drivability problems that may affect the power, fuel economy, emission output levels and dependability of the vehicle. The major areas covered include the diagnosis and troubleshooting of the emission control system, computer system, ignition system, fuel system, exhaust system and the engine's mechanical system. The student will learn to use diagnostic tools such as a trouble code scanner, oscilloscope, computer analyzer and a dynamometer.
