Prerequisites: ATTR 252, Athletic Training majors only, permission of instructor. Corequisites: ATTR 212. Special fee. The third course to provide students in the athletic training education program with supervised clinical education and experience. Students apply techniques and theory learned in athletic training courses with specific emphasis on the use of therapeutic modalities in the sports medicine setting. 2 hours lecture, 1 hour lab.

Prerequisites: ATTR 351, Athletic Training majors only, permission of instructor. Corequisites: ATTR 312. Special fee. The fourth course in the professional sequence that provides students in the athletic training education program with instruction in clinical competencies and proficiencies and supervised clinical education and experience. Students apply techniques and theory learned in athletic training courses with specific emphasis on the use of therapeutic modalities in the sports medicine setting. 2 hours lecture, 1 hour lab.

    College: COLLEGE OF EDUCATION AND HUMAN SERVICES Department: EXERCISE SCIENCE & PHYSICAL EDUCATION Credits: 3.00 Administration of Athletic Training Programs. Prerequisites: ATTR 311, ATTR 312, Athletic Training majors only, permission of instructor. Corequisites: ATTR 451. An overview of administrative components of an athletic training program for high school, college, and professional athletic organizations. Topics include financial management, training room management, personnel management, health care services, and pharmacology for athletic trainers. Practical experiences in budget management, facility organization, pharmacological procedures and issues, and a case study approach to issue resolution are included. 3 hours lecture.

Prerequisites: ATTR 352, Athletic Training majors only, permission of instructor. Corequisites: ATTR 411. Special fee. Fifth course to provide students in the athletic training education program with supervised clinical education and experience. Students apply techniques and theory learned in athletic training courses with specific emphasis on the use of therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation in the sports medicine setting. Students will also be required to incorporate theory and clinical skills from other courses in the program in evaluation and treatment decision making. 2 hours lecture, 1 hour lab.

    College: COLLEGE OF EDUCATION AND HUMAN SERVICES Department: EXERCISE SCIENCE & PHYSICAL EDUCATION Credits: 4.00 Internship in Athletic Training. Prerequisites: ATTR 411, ATTR 451, Athletic Training majors only, and permission of instructor. An upper-level course for students in the B.S. in Athletic Training. In this course students will be able to apply theoretical and practical information learned in the program in a working athletic training setting. Students will work with an Athletic Training Clinical Supervisor at an off-campus venue. The course also provides the student the opportunity to discuss and evaluate the fieldwork experience as well as the field of athletic training through class meetings.

    College: COLLEGE OF EDUCATION AND HUMAN SERVICES Department: EXERCISE SCIENCE & PHYSICAL EDUCATION Credits: 3.00 Seminar in Athletic Training. Prerequisites: ATTR 411, Athletic Training majors only, senior status, permission of instructor. The capstone course for students in the athletic training education program. Students summarize and draw together their didactic and clinical education in preparation for the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification Examination. Students also explore subjects and current issues germane to the field of athletic training. 3 hours lecture.

    College: COLLEGE OF THE ARTS Department: BROADCASTING Credits: 3.00 Introduction to the Broadcasting Medium. Prerequisites: Broadcasting majors only. A survey of the history, organization and current structure of radio, television and hybrid technologies; societal and cultural influences of electronic broadcast media; introduction to practical and theoretical concepts of studio production. 3 hours lecture.

The structure of the American broadcasting industry; broadcast production, including making radio and television commercials, and disc jockey-format music programs. 3 hours lecture.

    College: COLLEGE OF THE ARTS Department: BROADCASTING Credits: 3.00 Writing for the Broadcasting Media. Prerequisites: BDCS 101; Broadcasting Majors only. Writing of continuity and dramatic materials for the broadcast media, including news, commercials, and drama. Meets the University Writing Requirement for BRCA majors. 3 hours lecture.

    College: COLLEGE OF THE ARTS Department: BROADCASTING Credits: 3.00 Audio Production. Prerequisites: BDCS 101; Broadcasting majors only. Special fee. A fundamental workshop exploring the properties of sound as both a separate creative medium and as a supplemental tool for the visual image; studio and location recording, editing and mixing. 3 hours lecture.
