Provides for the development of basic skills in the performance and teaching of hatha yoga and basic neuromuscular relaxation. Each student will be able to plan and implement stress reduction programs for individuals in a one-to-one counseling situation and teach sessions in a classroom format.

Prerequisites: Open only to Physical Education Majors. This course provides an overview of the history, theory, pedagogical stretegies, performance and assessment of fielding and target games such as baseball and archery. Student have opportunties to perform in fielding and target games and to develop basic knowledge of skills, pedagogical strategies, officiating techniques, tornament knowledge, and skill assessment in those types of games. Students will be prepared to develop, implement and assess units of activities in these types of games. As part of the course they develop a comprehensive sport portfolio. Open only to physical education majors. 6 hours lab.

Prerequisites: Open only to Physical Education Majors. This course provides an overview of the history, theory, pedagogical strategies, performance, and assessment of invasion and net games such as basketball and tennis. Students have opportunities to perform in invasion and net games and to develop basic knowledge of skills, pedagogical strategies, officiating techniques, tornament knowledge, and skill assessment in those types of games. Students will be prepared to develop, implement and assess units of activities in these types of games. As part of the course they will develop a comprehensive sport portfolio. Open only to physical education majors. 6 hours lab.

Advanced skill adaptations, advanced offensive systems and defense systems as used in higher level team play. For the student who has mastered the basic skills and team tactic concepts through prior class or team participation and who plans to assume a leadership role in volleyball.

This dual course introduces the student to outdoor education and camping. A basic view of the outdoor education field, especially as it relates to elementary and secondary education; introduction to recreational (individual and small group), and organized camp. 2 hours lecture.

Materials and methods for the teaching of dance and other rhythm activities for elementary school children. Development of effective rhythm and dance programs. A minimum of 6 hours of practical experience with children is required.
