On-site graphic design work internship (10 to 20 hours per week) plus one hour weekly seminar with faculty. Combines practical applied career experience at a preassigned work location with theoretical and conceptual material shared in a seminar setting with faculty and fellow interns. Combines both internship work experience and a structured seminar class. Allows each student to share verbally, as well as in journal form, his/her internship duties and progression over the course of the semester. The seminar component of this course will also guide students through the process of resume and cover letter writing, interviewing techniques, portfolio preparation, working as a freelance artist or designer and provide a venue for the presentation and discussion of legal and copyright issues.
