The introduction includes the history, purposes, organization, people, services, rules and regulations, resources and opportunities for student development. A community service component is required.

The final Clinical Experience is a semester-long experience in a school classroom(s) (grades K-5) under the supervision of one or two qualified cooperating teachers and a FEP liaison. This experience includes observation, participation, full-time teaching, professional meetings and family and student conferences. The Clinical Experience follows the calendar of the host school, not the St. Catharine College calendar. A proficient professional portfolio and successful scores on the required Praxis II exams are required before completing the Clinical Experience. Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Clinical Experience (Bridge 2) and successful completion of all EDU coursework related to the major.

The internship is the final field experience prior to the clinical experience. It is normally completed in the same school setting as the clinical experience. Student interns will work two consecutive days supported by the final coursework in the major. Students will be immersed in the culture and community of a particular school. The Student Internship follows the calendar of the host school, not the St. Catharine College calendar. Prerequisites: Early and mid field experiences must be completed at the proficient level. Students must be accepted into Bridge 2.
