This course will provide the student with a comprehensive knowledge of what pharmacy technicians are and what they do. The primary focus will be legal issues, communication, and professionalism; with a lab component involving filling prescriptions, telephone and "counter"etiquette. It will cover legal and organizational aspects of pharmacy job descriptions, relationships with other health care professionals, career development, resources for Pharmacy techs, ethical issues in Pharmacy, communication, and workplace professionalism, including proper attire and skills. Writing and research skills will be components of the course.
