Students will also evaluate several scholarly articles written by literary critics and legal scholars about the nexus between law and literature. In addition, students will view films where characters are confronted with the law. This course will foster discussions concerning narrative, power, access to legal representation, and the human factors--race, class, and gender--that play a role in justice and rendering legal decisions.
