Emphasizes the role of play, the project approach, resources and strategies for teaching, student management and assessment. Prerequisites: completion of EC 134, EC 238, the handwriting correspondence requirement (see program handbook), and a passing score on the Phonics proficiency test or successful completion of EC 031 prior to enrollment. An introduction to the characteristics of exceptional learners and their educational rights and processes, which will include learners with disabilities as well as students who possess giftedness.
