An introduction to financial and managerial accounting, including an examination of basic accounting concepts, financial statements, the accounting cycle, cost-volume-profit relationships, budgeting, planning and control, cost concepts, and ethics. Prerequisite: AD 298. (3)

The course covers writing strategies for routine, bad news, and persuasive messages in the form of letters, memos, e-mail messages, and employment correspondence (resumes, letters of application, and follow-up letters).
