Students work on a variety of events, such as informative speaking, persuasive speaking, impromptu speaking, extemporaneous speaking, after dinner speaking, communication analysis, duet interpretation, and interpretation of poetry, prose, and drama. Topics may include organizational communication, persuasion, communication barriers, non-verbal communications, use of media in presentations, or business communication. Prerequisite: None Study of the historical development of the continent of Africa with emphasis on social, cultural, and political aspects. Examples of cultural conflict and synthesis will be analyzed. The impact of Africa's geography, economies, and religious heritages on the development of this area is also included.
