Prerequisite: PHY 261 This course deals with the development of physics since 1900. Topics normally covered in this course will be relativity, quantum mechanics, atomic physics, nuclear physics, solid state physics, and high energy physics. Three hours lecture/discussion per week.

Special emphasis will be given to such topics as the state system, nationalism, ideology, foreign policy, decision-making processes, diplomacy, trade, war, international law, and international organizations.
