Preparation of recommendation and feasibility reports, proposals, and applications of graphics in documents and oral presentations. Prerequisites: ENG101 with a grade of "C", or better, or permissionof instructor.

3 Credits. 3 Periods. Emphasis on critical analysis of various genres of literature; includes study of necessary terminology, introduction to methods of literary criticism, and practice in interpretation and evaluation. Prerequisites: ENG102.

3 Credits. 3 Periods. Introduction to the works of Mexican- American writers of the Southwest. Samples poetry, fiction, and essays viewed in their relationship to American cultural heritage and to contemporary culture. Prerequisites: None.

3 Credits. 3 Periods. Survey of major African-American writers from Colonial period through the present; analysis of trends and movements within African-American literary history; analysis of literary types and selected works. Prerequisites: None.

Survey of selected rap poetry looking at the oral tradition of Africa, the Caribbean, and the United States as precursors to East Coast, West Coast, Southern, North Central, and International development of the genre. Investigation of cultural environments, historical events, competitions (the "battles"), artists' biographies, and paralleart forms as they relate to the analysis of the genre and its themes. Prerequisites: None.

3 Credits. 3 Periods. Surveys the last one hundred and fifty years of Science Fiction literature. Investigates the similarities between Science Fiction and other imaginative literatures Examines the Science Fiction genre, sub genres, and themes from a variety of perspectives, as well as social issues. Prerequisites: None.
