This course provides the fundamentals of identification, production, purchasing and service of spirits, wine and beer products. Emphasis is on developing plans for marketing, menu developing, and cost.

(1) This course will teach students about the beverage industry as it relates to the hospitality and tourism industry. Tastings will have an integral part of the class, with lecture and discussion of such topics as the history, production, storage, merchandising, marketing and appreciation for the various types of beverages. Prerequisite: Must be 21 and show proof of age.
