    This course introduces the student to the fundamental concepts of popular application software includedMicrosoft (MS) Office 2003 andMSOE's on-line learning systems.MS183 covers WebCT,MSOE library resources,MS word,MS excel, andMS PowerPoint.MS184 covers the same topic andMS Access. Topics forMS183 (2 quarter credits) are completed at the end of week 8 of the quarter. Topics forMS184 (3 quarter credits) are completed at the end of week 11. The coursematerials are presented in a "hands-on" style. Classmeetings are conducted intutorial style. Attendance is not considered part of the course evaluation and grade.

The course will coverWeb site design beyond the basics as well as how to create graphics, animation and JavaScript formvalidation into an already createdWeb site. The student will enhance a preexistingWeb site with graphics and JavaScript while using the advancedWeb site design techniques. Upon completion of this course, it is expected that students will be able to understand in-depth knowledge ofWeb site development; select approaches, strategies and techniques for integrating Internet technologies into the design and development ofWeb sites; and, incorporate formvalidation with JavaScript, animated graphics, and advancedWeb design techniques.     This hands-on course is designed for experiencedWeb site designers interested in including multimedia on their sites. The course will cover all aspects of creating and includingmultimedia on a site specifically using Adobe Illustrator andMacromedia Flash. You will create a multimedia project using the techniques discussed in class. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to understandmultimedia and the issues surrounding its inclusion onWeb sites; select approaches, strategies and techniques for integratingmultimedia technologies into the design and development ofWeb sites; and incorporate Flash technologies into theirWeb sites.
