3.00 Credits
Middlebury College
In this course designed for the non-science major, we will examine, in detail, the current status of fossil fuel and renewable energy technologies, as well as proposed alternative energy strategies to replace fossil fuels and meet growing global energy demands. We will use current scientific literature and mainstream media publications to explore the environmental impact of greenhouse gas production based on current forecasts and the energy implications of future stabilization of atmospheric CO2 production. We will study U.S. governmental policies regarding energy use and regulation, and we will discuss the impact of policy intervention on current and future energy consumption and technology. SCI ( D.
