Covers types of media and cabling, physical and logical networks, as well as signal transmission. Focuses on best practices and safety using copper and fiber-optic cabling. Requires students to install a complete cable infrastructure for a simulated telecommunications room. Enforces industry and worldwide standards. Requires a community project and portfolio based on voice/data cabling skills. Requires a research paper.
