Students will format spreadsheets using effective design principles, enter common spreadsheet formulas, use database operations, use graphic/chart functions, use macros, and use various features to enhance the appearance of the spreadsheet. This is an advanced course in desktop publishing utilizing page layout, image editing, and illustration software. A scanner and a digital camera will also be used. Graphic art skills will be developed and utilized to create documents that are used by business professionals. Unit projects will be part of a portfolio to illustrate student proficiency in creating a variety of original business documents for advertising and office use.

The course will focus on creating and querying tables, creating custom forms and reports, integrating the database with other software applications, automating tasks with macros, and securing a database.

This course covers the introductory through advanced concepts using spreadsheet and database software. Students will use spreadsheet software to compute and summarize numeric data; students will use database software to organize and query large amounts of data.

This course is a capstone, integrated course that presents students with the opportunity to prepare documents and complete tasks like those required in today's high performance, technologically advanced office.

This course is designed to prepare students to work in a medical office. Students will learn procedures, techniques, terminology, patient records, insurance procedures and coding, medical transcription, and the role and function of a medical secretary. Emphasis will be placed on medical transcription and learning MediSoft patient accounting software or equivalent.
