491 (F), 492 (W), 493(F, 494 (W) In this four-semesters the student learns the process of conducting and reporting biochemical research. In CHEM 491 the student learns how to use the chemical literature, begins participation in a common biochemical project, and begins to learn how to write scientifically. In CHEM 492 & CHEM 493 students continue to participate in a group biochemical research project. In CHEM 493, in addition to continuing to participate in the group biochemical research project, each student develops and presents a scientific poster based on obtained results. In CHEM 494 each student writes a senior thesis and prepares and presents a final seminar open to the entire university. (Prerequisites for: CHEM 492 is CHEM 491 or equivalent, CHEM 493 is CHEM 492 or equivalent, CHEM 494 is CHEM 493 or equivalent.)
