Topics covered include colonial Pennsylvania-German decorative arts, Victorian Welsh gravestones, African-American textile and basketry crafts, and contemporary Inuit graphic arts. Discussions and research will focus on the relationship of folk arts to questions of ethnicity, class, popular culture, and community aesthetics.
