Solution and applications of initial-value problems for a single or a system of ordinary differential equations. Topics include the solution of first-order equations, linear first-order systems, linear second-order equations, and elementary phase plane analysis of nonlinear systems. Mathematical software will be used to study some of these topics. PREREQ: MATH242 and MATH349 (or equivalent knowledge of eigenvalues and eigenvectors). Students who do not meet the MATH349 prerequisite are advised to take MATH351 instead of MATH302. RESTRICTIONS: Students who received credit in MATH305, MATH342, MATH351, or MATH352 are not eligible to take this course without permission.
