    This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite: (1) Current BCLS (CPR) certification at the Health Care Provider level by the American Heart Association or equivalent. Lectures and discussions that prepares EMS professionals for the first response to nuclear, biological, or chemical terrorist attack. Topics discussed are nuclear, biological, and chemical agents, their dissemination, triage, and treatment of mass casualty terrorist attacks. Additional topics and interactive skills will further discuss and explore first-responses to multiple casualty incidents such as multi-victim vehicle crashes, structural collapses, and natural disasters. A detailed study of the knowledge and skills necessary to reach competence in the assessment and management of patients with cardiac emergencies. In addition to the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of a cardiac crisis, it includes dysrhythmia recognition and 12 Lead ECG interpretation for field diagnosis, as well as pharmacological and electrical interventions for treatment.
