The study of location, conveyance, ownership and transfer of real property under the laws of the State of Texas. Emphasis on the history of disposition of public land, interpreting written descriptions, dignity of calls and evidence, record search of public and private land records and preparation of a deed record sketch. This is a Unique Need Course. This is the first semester of academic transfer Swahili. This course is an introductory course intended for students with little or no knowledge of the language. Its aim is to present essential vocabulary and grammar, and to develop the pronunciation, listening, reading, and writing skills necessary for basic communication and comprehension. This is a Unique Need Course. Prerequisite: SWAH 1470 or the equivalent or demonstrated competence approved by the instructor. This is the second semester of academic transfer Swahili. This course continues the oral practice, reading, writing, grammar and cultural studies begun in SWAH 1470. Students are expected to acquire a substantial amount of vocabulary and begin to deal with idiomatic language and more advanced syntax. (3 Lec., 2 Lab.) Prerequisite: Developmental Reading 0093 or English as a Second Language (ESOL) 0044 or have met the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standard in Reading. Corequisite/Concurrent: Students will be required to submit to and pass a criminal background search by the certification date as prescribed by the program and college. Failure to comply will result in the student being dropped from the course.
