As a minimum, the following objectives should be met by the course presentatin: a. Encourage students to ask questions such as: "What is the nature of human societies. What human needs do they fulfull. What institutions evolve in different societies. What types of changes do societies undergo and what are the characteristics of those which survive and those which don't." b. Encourage students to investigate the effects of values and ethics on society. c. Provide an overview of major figures and concepts in sociology, history, anthropology, economics, etc.
